Low vitamin D levels in blood

Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium from foods. The calcium is used to strengthen bones.

Vitamin D is found in some foods. Please check with the dietician as to what food is rich in Vitamin D. When exposed to sunlight, the skin makes vitamin D. Unfortunately the body can’t make use of the vitamin D from either of these sources until the kidneys have modified it into an active form.
