Minimal/self-care centre

At a minimal or self-care center, patients play a more active role in their treatment. Supervised by medical staff, they may prepare the dialysis machine, insert the needles, adjust the pump speeds and machine settings, and chart their progress.

Patients need to be on a fixed schedule and must travel to the unit approximately three times a week.
